On the 8-11 of November, a total of 17 European case officers gathered in St Julians, Malta for the face-to-face sessions of Inclusion and Dublin Regulation.
During the four weeks prior to the event the EAC trainers-to-be had completed the online part of the training. Now it was time to meet and develop the knowledge gained during the online phase. The participants had the opportunity to get together and share experiences and practises with their European colleagues.
The Inclusion module provided the participants knowledge on the international legal instruments dealing with refugee protection and subsidiary protection. They also got training on the interpretation and use of the 1951 Geneva Convention and the EU Qualification Directive.
The Dublin Regulation module provided knowledge and skills at an advanced level on the Dublin Regulation and the way it operates. The participants also got training on how to work with the EURODAC database and the electronic network “DUBLINET”.
Expert trainers for Inclusion were Sylvie Daubian-Delisle from Belgium and Rajka van Snippenburg from the Netherlands.
Expert trainers for Dublin Regulation was Christine Wik from Sweden and Frank Schimmelpfennig from Germany. Didactics expert was René van de Kamp from the Netherlands. Sylvie Daubian-Delisle also performed the online platform training.
Next trainer courses are Country of Origin Information and Drafting and Decision Making. The online part started October 24 and the face-to-face sessions will take place 22-25 November on Malta.
