Interview with François Bienfait - Head of Centre for Training, Quality and Expertise at EASO.
The Christmas time has come again announcing that the end of the year 2011 is inevitably approaching. This brings an important landmark for a group of people who have spent last few years dedicated to the management and enrichment of EAC life.
On the 6-7 December EASO arranged the first EAC expert pool meeting. The same week the EAC project and EASO also organised the fourth National Contact Points session.
EAC has had a marvelous year together with you. New modules have been developed, we have reached over 2000 participants with our training, the NCP network has grown, we have prepared the transfer of EAC to EASO who has embraced the Curriculum with open arms and established an EAC expert pool, and many, many other things.
On the 22-25 of November, the face-to-face sessions of Country of Origin Information (COI) and Drafting and Decision-Making marked the last two trainer’s sessions in EAC’s history as a project. Next year, the training sessions will be hosted and organised completely by EASO and the project phase of EAC is over.
Joint training plays an important role in quality and harmonization of the asylum process. This was pointed out by the partner countries in the Söderköping Process, the participating EU countries and the international organizations during a workshop held in Bucharest on 8-9 November 2011.
On the 8-11 of November, a total of 17 European case officers gathered in St Julians, Malta for the face-to-face sessions of Inclusion and Dublin Regulation.
