The Initial learning is the basic level on legal and international norms along with the EU Acquis, providing a base for all staff engaged with asylum matters.

3. Inclusion

4. Asylum Procedure Directive

Asylum Procedure Directive This module provides knowledge at an initial level on the main minimum standards, principles and guarantees that all member states shall implement in their national asylum procedures in accordance with the Council Directives on minimum standards on procedure.

5. Country of Origin Information (COI)

This module aims to impart knowledge and initial skills about the role of COI in the context of Refugee Status Determination (RSD).

6. Interview Techniques

Interview TechniquesThis module provides skills on an initial level about interview techniques. Taking notes and compiling a report will be part of the training as well as how to deal with interpreters.

7. Evidence Assessment

Evidence AssessmentThis module will assist the case officer in identifying reliable evidence in order to reach a well-considered decision on international protection.

8. Drafting and Decision-Making

Drafting and Decision-MakingThis module provides skills on an initial level to formulate and motivate the decision in accordance with the requirements of the directive.
